St. Mark's is a spirit-filled experience in authentic community celebrating our trust in God's unconditional love and healing. We receive wholeness through our relationships, vibrant worship, and radical hospitality. Through the disciplines of our daily lives we seek freedom and abundance: a world without fear, prejudice, or judgment.
St. Marks is a parish called by God to reach out to all with God's unconditional acceptance, healing and joy. This parish acknowledges that many of God's children have been discouraged or denied a seat at God's table based on ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, race, economic status, mental abilities, physical appearances or physical abilities. This parish is a place of radical hospitality and inclusion that invites ALL persons to be in communion with God without regard to these conventional and false conceptions of which persons have been made in the image of God. All persons have been made in God's image and are welcome here. If you are a follower of any religion; widely practiced or not so well known, or a member of no religion at all, you are welcome here. We believe that barriers to open worship are not a part of God's design, but are based on human fears and a corruption of God's awesome purpose. We delight in God's creation of diversity and believe that by embracing our differences we can continue to more fully appreciate God's plan and more perfectly participate in God's awe-inspiring kingdom.
O God, you know us better than we know ourselves. Guide us throughout our time of transition. Empower each one of us to use our unique gifts in ministry, to share openly and honestly our thoughts, to respect the opinions of others, and to encourage humility, patience, and joy. Guide the minds of those who shall choose our new priest, that we may receive a faithful shepherd, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries. All this we ask in Your Holy Name. Amen.
